This was published 2 days ago. I can’t wait to watch the trailer and  movie, and you?

the “announcement trailer” for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will be released online on December 15th, which leads me to believe the trailer might also be attached to Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The film is, of course, Warner Bros.’ spinoff of sorts to the Harry Potter franchise as it tells another story set within the wizarding world. This time working off a screenplay by author J.K. Rowling herself, Fantastic Beasts takes place in 1926 New York City, where magizoologist Newt Scamander (played by Oscar-winner Eddie Redmayne) finds himself running up against magicians in hiding and a government on its toes after part of his collection of some of the world’s most spectacular magical creatures escapes on the streets of New York.

Eddie Redmayne, who was the toast of the awards season last year for his role in The Theory of Everything, also received a SAG nomination this morning for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role, and responded with his own reaction to the news:

“It means a great deal to be recognised by my peers during such a wonderful year of filmmaking. The Danish Girl took a long while to get made and I am damn lucky that I ended up having the honour of helping bring Lili and Gerda’s story to the screen. I am hugely grateful to Tom Hooper, Alicia Vikander, and our incredible cast for this truly unique collaboration. I certainly wouldn’t have been able to play Lili were it not for the generosity of the trans women and men who helped me prepare for this role; I am indebted to all of them and the community. My thanks to SAG-AFTRA members for this nomination.”

Eddie Redmayne will go head to head with 10-times nominee Leonardo DiCaprio at the Golden Globes, just a year after his win for The Theory Of Everything.

The British star is nominated for best actor in a drama for his performance as transgender artist Lili Elbe in The Danish Girl, while DiCaprio received his 11th nod for his gruelling turn as Hugh Glass in revenge saga The Revenant.

The pair, who were also both nominated for Screen Actors Guild Awards on Wednesday, are widely regarded as the favourites in the category and appear poised to secure Oscar nominations when they are announced next year. [Source]

Eddie Redmayne thinks Benedict Cumberbatch and himself have “blagged” their acting careers.

The 33-year-old star made the comment when asked if he’s in competition with the ‘Sherlock’ actor after he beat him to Best Actor at this year’s Oscars and Golden Globe Awards.

Discussing their relationship, he said: “It’s not a rivalry, no, I just … adore him. And he couldn’t have been more lovely. So kind. He’s staggeringly talented. For both of us though, that whole ride, we were just pinching ourselves, going, ‘Can you believe we’ve blagged it?’ ”

Elsewhere, Redmayne has admitted challenging role in ‘The Danish Girl’, as transgender pioneer Lili Elbe, left him feeling “vulnerable”.

The actor – who is up for the Best Actor SAG Award for his performance – said: “It leaves you feeling very exposed and vulnerable. The set itself felt very safe when I would be walking around as Lili but there was still this sense of people watching you and feeling judged.

“Imagine what it must be like for trans women who are constantly facing such judgment as well as discrimination and violence in many cases.”

And one particular nude scene was really “embarrassing” for the star.

He said: “Any time you get naked in front of a crew, it’s embarrassing.”

In it, the handsome star had to peel off his trousers and tuck his manhood through his legs.

He explained: “It’s not as if we as actors have some way of becoming comfortable with it. It would be exactly like you getting naked in front of 30 people. [Source]

This Sunday a selected group of 7 Eddie Redmayne fan-bloggers had the opportunity to speak with Eddie in a conference call, and they talked not only about his experiences with shooting The Danish Girl, but also about theatre, possible future projects, his love for art and painting. All the question asked were very thoughtful and Eddie gave the most insightful if a bit rambly at times answers. Make sure you read all to the end as Eddie has a message for all his fans.

A big thank you to Eddie, his agents and @bespokeredmayne who organised this event. Sadly, BespokeRedmayne fell ill on the day of the interview and couldn’t attend. We wish her a very speedy recovery. She surely was in our thoughts throughout the interview.

And another big thank you to the other involved bloggers, you guys were amazing!

Eddie Redmayne: Hi guys!

Fran (redbastchedcumbermayned): Hi Eddie, it’s Fran from Munich.

ER: Hi!

F: You said when you finished shooting The Theory of Everything that the character of Stephen Hawking stayed with you for a very long time. Did you experience something similar after you finished shooting The Danish Girl?

ER: You know I always, I sort of am not a method actor, so I always tend to think that I’m quite good at getting out of character and leaving the work at work rather than taking it home. But I think sometimes character traits or physical elements stay within me a wee bit, and it’s normally Hannah that points these out. So, I’m not sure after The Danish Girl, I found probably something in my hand movements, there’s sort of elements of that, but I always think that all of those characteristics are gone. But occasionally Hannah will find them out.

F: Thank you!
